Now that I’ve gone back to my day job, time has become a precious commodity. Despite my best efforts to keep the boundaries between work and home distinct, I do sometimes have to play “catch-up” on my office work in the evenings/weekends, especially on weeks when my work schedule is packed with meetings. Yes, in Singapore, the concept of work-life harmony is like an alien – you cannot be sure it does not exist, but you have never encountered it yourself.
In order to juggle between work and home, my waking hours are devoted to my roles as an employee, daughter, wife and mother. Not having my “me” time is starting to take its toll, as I find that I can get easily frustrated and upset even with the most minor of things. After some reflection, and a good chat with Eric, we’ve decided that maybe I should try to set aside some time for myself every once-in-a-while. To meet up with friends, dabble in my craft hobbies or simply just take a couple of hours off by myself to indulge in some baby-free retail therapy!
So guess what I would be receiving next month? =P
