Been spending the last couple of days editing a video clip that we had recorded. It shall be our first CA video tutorial and will feature the Stampavie Bear Carrying Flower image. Faced with some technical difficulties along the way, but nothing that Google couldn’t help with, so do look out for our new video tutorials (will be placed in our community board – so that you can also post questions and comments in response to our videos), coming your way in April 2010! p/s: We will also be launching a special Stampavie offer in conjunction with the video.

Mummy’s crafting!
Having a baby at home does take up a good portion of your time. My plans to complete my travel scrapbooking (of all the trips Eric and I made during our university days) during my maternity leave have been shelved aside and many of my attempts at rubber stamping have been interrupted by a crying baby. In anticipation that I would be stamping a lot less over the next few years, I have recently spring-cleaned my stamping supplies and would be listing some of my rarely-used items in our pre-loved category when the new shop comes online.
Die-cutting however, is something that I have turned my attention to. It is easy, because I can die-cut the pieces that I need when I am free, leave them aside for assembly at a later stage, and the best thing about die-cutting is, you never need to worry about being interrupted halfway! No inks or watercolours that would dry up while you attend to the baby, no need to worry about the residual ink or colours on your fingers as you attend to the baby, and it’s the kind of mess that can be left aside for days if you can’t find the time to return to it immediately. The best part of it all is that when Alexis is slightly older, I can die cut alphabets, numbers and even a couple of paper dolls for her to play with!
Therefore, I have recently embarked on a pretty ambitious project of making a baby journal for Alexis. When we first knew I was expecting, Eric and I started a pregnancy journal for the baby. Along the way, work and other commitments got the better of us, so we skipped a couple of months. After the baby arrived, we thought we should try and get the writing restarted, since it would be a good way for us to record her developmental milestones as well as our feelings and thoughts over the next few months/years. It would be a meaningful keepsake that we hope she will treasure for the rest of her life.
Using my QuicKutz alphabet dies, I created a nameplate to adorn the plain journal that we bought from Paperchase last year. Inside the journal, there are calendar pages for every month. A sticker is used to mark each day when an entry is written. Since Alexis was pretty cooperative that night (she slept pretty early, and I was feeling rather awake), I decided to make the calendar pages for the remaining months in 2010! Designer papers came from my previous collection, as well as the new pieces that Yongen had given me during my confinement month to keep me occupied. =)
Here’s sharing some pictures of the completed items.
